These youth leaders are responsible for the Dr. Martin Luther King Day Assembly; Dia De Los Muertos Ofrenda; and Heritage Week. They also share their work throughout the school through homeroom representatives and bulletin boards where they share information and resources.
The 2024-25 academic year will continue facilitation skills through listening circles and restorative justice techniques for youth, such as Brave Space and Community Ethics.
Each group has a faculty/staff moderator who supports the student-led space with resources, criticalthinking skills, and discussion of facilitation techniques. Moderators also work as a team to schedule student union meetings for the year and coordinatecollective events and project work between affinity groups and MSU.
