College Counseling at HNA

As a college preparatory school, Holy Names Academy assists its students with the college search and admissions process. The two full-time, dedicated counselors in the College Counseling Office offer the following services:

  • Individual student counseling to assist with the college application and selection process. Students are guided in the exploration of such areas as: proposed major course of study; academic qualifications; expectations regarding tuition, room, board, and other expenses; preferences as to geographical location, religious affiliation, size of school, etc.
  • Individual and group meetings with parents and students concerning the overall admissions process, applications, testing, and financial aid.
  • Coordination of visits by college admissions representatives and notification to students about other Puget Sound area college meetings.
  • Parent workshops for college planning and college financial planning, with guest speakers from colleges.
  • Online and print resources for information on college profiles and admissions, testing (ACT, SAT, SAT Subject Tests), scholarships, and financial aid.
  • Coordination of Career Day, at which professionals in a variety of careers visit HNA to give presentations to 9th-, 10th-, and 11th-grade students.
  • Publication of the annual HNA College Planning Guide and the monthly newsletter College Counselors' Corner.

Information for College Admissions Representatives

Virtual Visits Only in Fall 2020

HNA will host college admissions representatives virtually this fall to meet with registered juniors and seniors. We now use RepVisits to schedule all virtual college visits. Please contact HNA's College Counselors with any questions.

Please be aware that it is the policy of Holy Names Academy to only allow not-for-profit educational institutions to visit our school.

DAY OF VISIT REMINDER: A large construction project is underway at Holy Names Academy and the parking lot near our former gym is not available as our gym and new underground parking facility are being built! We are unable to reserve parking spaces in our remaining parking lot so we ask that you park legally in the neighborhood surrounding Holy Names Academy.  Please plan to allow an extra 10-15 minutes to find parking as it may be challenging to find a spot close to our building.

Click HERE for a map showing street parking restrictions for all school-related parking. You will still need to enter the building through the front doors on 21st Avenue East.

The exciting news is that we will soon have a fabulous five-story underground parking garage!  If you are curious about the new Athletic Complex and Parking Garage project, please CLICK HERE.  (The Cougar Cam will provide you with an up-to-the-hour, time-lapse camera of construction progress.)

How can we help?
