Incoming 9th-Grade Students for Fall 2025:

The following steps outline the typical admission process. All admissions events and requirements are subject to change. 

DAY AT HNA

Spend a 'Day at HNA'! Students in the 8th grade, and potential transfer students, are invited to spend a Day at HNA with a current student as host. We will provide $15 for lunch/break in the cafe. Visitors are welcome from the end of September through early January, dependent on the HNA schedule. Contact admissions@holynames-sea.org to schedule.

to Holy Names Academy. 

The application deadline for the Fall of 2025 was Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Late applications will be considered on a space-available basis. Please contact the Admissions Office at (206)720-7805 or admissions@holynames-sea.org.

EXAM

The HNA Scholarship / Placement Exam

HNA administers an exam to all prospective 9th/10th graders. This is one of several components used to determine admission status, placement, and scholarship awards. Exams were held in December. A makeup exam will be offered on Saturday, January 11, 2025. Contact admissions@holynames-sea.org to register. See FAQs for more exam information.

SCHOOL FORMS

Submit the Confidential School Report Fillable Form and Confidential Teacher Evaluation Fillable Form (PDF) to the student's current principal. Ask her/him to complete the form and forward it directly to Holy Names Academy). NOTE: This is a common form used by several Seattle-area Catholic high schools and may be photocopied for multiple uses. In addition, your principal should forward directly to HNA a copy of the following:

  • Official transcript/permanent record
  • Standardized test scores from current/previous years
  • Report cards from the preceding two years
  • Grades/progress reports from the current year

TRANSFER STUDENTS

Transfer Students for Fall 2025

The admissions process for transfer students is the same as for incoming 9th-grade students (see above). It is recommended that applicants for the 10th grade submit standardized test scores (from within the last two years) and take the HNA Scholarship/ Placement Exam. Applicants for the 11th grade are not required to take the exam but are encouraged to include their most recent standardized exam scores with their application.

Upcoming Events:

  • DECISION LETTERS MAILED - Decision letters for the 2025-2026 school year will be mailed on Thursday, February 13, 2025.
  • FUTURE COUGAR KICKOFF - An evening honoring the prospective members of the HNA Class of 2029 and transfer students. Monday, February 24, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. No RSVP required. 
  • NEW STUDENT REPLY FORMS AND REGISTRATION FEE DUE - The deadline to reply and register for the 2025-2026 school year is Thursday, February 27, 2025.
  • 9TH-GRADE REGISTRATION - The 9th Grade and Transfer Student registration event will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025.

Completed Events:

  • Walk and Talk Tuesdays for Parents of 8th grade students - these events were held on September 24 and October 29 (closed). 

  • Catholic High School Virtual Information Night -September 25 (closed). 

  • HNA and O'Dea Information Night at HNA - October 1 (closed).

  • Fall Open House was October 20 (closed).
