Baccalaureate Mass at St. James Cathedral and Commencement at BenaroyaHall. It was a moment of overwhelming joy to recognize each young woman inthis amazing class.
The Commencement ceremony opened with an invocation from Caryn Jorgensen ’89, President of our Board of Trustees. The program included a performance by graduating instrumentalists and by senior vocalists. Head of School, Liz Swift, delivered the commencement address and chose a theme from Mary Oliver’s poem, A Summer Day: “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
Student speakers Ashley Ruiz-Santiago and Elspeth Schoonover spoke of the experiences, values, and dreams of the class. The final blessing was offered by Parent Board Vice President Marie Groark and her husband, George Nelson.
We will miss all the wonderful young women in this accomplished and compassionate class.
