On November 17, Holy Names Academy gathered a group of young students together for an afternoon “Girls Explore STEM” event. This sell-out program, designed for girls in grades 4-8, was filled with engaging robotics and science projects that sparked curiosity and creativity. Participants were able to dive into the world of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) by building and programming robots, creating balloon “lungs” in biology, and making Cougar paw bath bombs in chemistry. With hands-on fun for all, the event provided a platform for young girls to explore and develop their interests in these important fields.

A special shout-out goes to the fantastic teachers, Natalie Radich, Julia Baase, Erik Van Buren, and the Reign Robotics students, whose dedication and enthusiasm made the event truly successful.
Given the overwhelming community interest and positive feedback, HNA is excited to plan more events like this in the future. Stay tuned for details on upcoming opportunities, including a summer camp, where girls can continue to explore and expand their STEM skills.
